GAIN:
"Delivering warmth
to those who need it
most"
The Grant Aided Heating Installers' Network aims for a higher level
of professionalism, beyond technical qualifications and competence, for
its heating and renewables contractors serving the grant market.
Members agree to abide by a Code of Conduct covering fair dealing
with customers, avoiding misleading statements, maintaining technical
registration, and a complaints procedure. Criteria for full
membership covers technical registration, insurance cover, trading record
and
customer protection. Full Members also
need to hold, or be committed to achieving a recognised quality
Certificate.
The Grant Aided Heating Installers' Network supports heating
and renewables contractors participating in grant-aided schemes. This includes the UK
government grant schemes: Warm Front in England, HEES Wales, Warm Deal
Scotland and Warm Homes in Northern Ireland. It also covers the Carbon
Emissions Reduction Target (CERT), as managed by energy suppliers; and
Schemes run by local authorities.
Members meet quarterly at
different locations to discuss matters of
mutual interest, whether they are operational, technical or policy
issues, taking these up as required with scheme managers or government.
As and when appropriate a GAIN technical committee is welcome to meet EAGA.
Information on the Association's objectives, and members servicing
grant-aided schemes follows.
