DRIVING GREEN POLICIES FORWARD

DECC Keynote Speaker on Green Deal

Third GAIN Conference – Sponsored by Worcester Bosch

10 November 2011, Manchester United FC

Accompanying Exhibition Now Taking Bookings

‘Driving green policies forward – for energy efficient heating coupled with renewables’ will be the theme for this year’s national conference and exhibition, organised by the Grant Aided Heating Installers Network, to be held at Manchester United Football Club, Old Trafford, Manchester, on Thursday, 10 November 2011.

This follows-up last year’s successful Conference and exhibition ‘Will Incentives Move the Renewables Market?’, but this time concentrating on the important role renewables are playing in new government policies. Setting the scene, as Keynote speaker for the Conference, will be David Purdy, who heads the Green Deal team at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). He will be updating delegates on the detail of Green Deal and progress to-date. This is the third national Conference to be organised by GAIN, the last one in 2010 attracting some 300 delegates from RSLs and the heating and renewables industry.

Chairing the Conference will be Tim Pollard, Director of the Sustainable Building Center (Wolseley) at Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. The Center exhibits all the latest renewable technology and Tim will be updating the meeting on measures now available to the market place. Similarly Steve Lister of the Worcester, Bosch Group, will give an appraisal of the latest heating technology. Worcester, Bosch, a leader in this field, is the main sponsor of the Conference.

Other speakers will include an energy supplier, who will explain the practicalities of introducing Green Deal; and case studies by RSLs, who have installed heat pumps, solar panels and other renewables.

The Conference will be illustrated by its companion exhibition – now taking bookings. Major suppliers, showing heating boilers, controls and ancillary equipmentment; renewables, including photovoltaic and solar panels, ground and air source heat pumps etc, and insulation measures, will be exhibiting at this well-rounded exhibition.

Registered Social Landlords and other specifiers, government agencies, energy suppliers, and the contracting and supplying industry for heating and renewables are invited to attend this well focussed conference and exhibition. Places are free for specifiers including lunch and entry to the diverse exhibition; and £54.00 (including VAT) per commercial delegate. There will be opportunities to consult the experts, as well as take in the atmosphere, or participate in a tour, of the well known Manchester United FC.

The Grant Aided Heating Installers Network works with installers and suppliers of heating and renewable products to upgrade the professionalism of the industry serving the grants and wider market.
